Demetrius is popular with many of the customers. He often sees old teachers, friends, and classmates at Speedway, chatting with them while he stocks supplies around the food and coffee areas and ensures a clean workplace. His fun, active personality is evident in their smiling faces.

Gino's Success Story

Working Hard at Hardee’s

Gino is a man of many talents and as he started his path with Goodwill’s Work Services program, he soon expressed how he wanted something different and more for himself. Gino was able to find that at Hardee’s Restaurant. As a combined food preparation and service worker at Hardee’s, Gino assists with food preparation, unloads trucks and puts items away, double checks the inventory sheet, changes ice/soda machines, brings food out to the customers and helps out with keeping the lobby area clean, especially during the very busy classic car shows.

Musetta

A Bright Future Ahead

If you ask Musetta about her future dreams, she does not hesitate with her response. “I want to get my degree in child care. Then I want to move to California and work in child care.”

Musetta has worked at Best Western as a building cleaner since June 2014. While working, Musetta attends child care classes at MATC after her shift or on her days off in hopes of making her future dream a reality. Her accomplishment of this goal can be attributed to the assistance and support of her family, friends, multiple Goodwill programs, the State of Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and Milwaukee County Department of Family Care for Community Access.

Driven to Succeed

“Now that I met my goal of getting a job, my next goal is to find my own place.”

Brittany W. reached her first goal when she was hired as a Dining Room Attendant at Serb Hall in January 2015. She assists with event set-up duties which include setting out tables/chairs, linens, rolling silverware, cleaning and bussing tables. She works in a team environment where she is able to demonstrate her strong individual working skills.

Nick

Busy means fun to him

It’s easy to see why Nick L. enjoys his job as a Laundry and Dry-Cleaning Worker at the Wisconsin Athletic Club(WAC) in Menomonee Falls.

“I love the people, both the staff and the guests. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It’s a fun place to work.”

Nick began his temporary work experience, which was supported by Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), at the WAC in February 2015 and was hired in March. He said he “looks forward to work days” which are three morning shifts per week.
