Michelle Mason

“I strive to leave each relationship and experience a little better than when I encountered it.” These are the words of Michelle Mason, President and CEO at Association Forum and member of Goodwill’s Board of Directors.

Since beginning her role on the board, Michelle continues to be inspired every time she sees the thumbnail_MM Headshot Summer 2019 webGoodwill mission in action.

Many of her favorite memories are of moments when those in need receive job opportunities, which she knew would change their lives.

“Goodwill transforms lives through work and dignity,” she said. “The resources job seekers have access to through Goodwill provide a solid foundation of support for a person looking to find meaningful work.”

Q: What drives you to lead yourself, others, and in the community?

A. I am driven by my passion to make a difference while achieving results. After each relationship and experience, I strive to leave it a little better than when I encountered it.

Q: What is your favorite quote from an African American leader?

A. Nelson Mandela - “For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”

For Michelle, Black History Month provides an opportunity to celebrate, honor and reflect on those leaders who have paved the way for freedom, equality and justice in our communities. She shared, “It’s a time to show pride for our ethnicity and historic achievements while we unite in pursuit of a progressive future.”

February marks Black History Month, honoring the triumphs and struggles of prominent African thumbnail_820x360-Black-History-MonthAmericans who have made significant contributions to America and the rest of the world. To celebrate Black History Month, Goodwill is celebrating local African American leaders who are essential to our success.
